Maybe if I look away.

I can hide in my own world

Without the pain

I need not take it

I can avoid it

If this

Is

What I desire

Why should I care

Except for the gold

Let the poison

Drift about in their own death

I can pity them for going in that direction

I need see their guilt

I am sure they don’t want me to witness

Their distress

Of selling themselves out.
